The UK Online Safety Act and the Australian Online Safety Act aim to keep users safe from harmful online content.

AI Search Features

We currently offer two AI features. Duck.ai provides access to popular chatbots, anonymized by us. AI-assisted answers are sourced from the web and shown alongside our traditional search results. The web sources linked in our AI features are primarily selected based on their relevance to the query or prompt. To protect our users, we use classifiers, keyword blocklists, and other methods to proactively identify and prevent linking to sources with illegal content.  

Please report any illegal or harmful content in Duck.ai outputs, AI-assisted answers, or the sources they link to by clicking the thumbs-down icon. (To see this icon in Duck.ai, click the "Share Feedback" button located at the bottom left of the screen.) Choose the "Something Else" option, describe the issue in the text box, and submit the form. You can also report illegal content by emailing us as described below. 

Organic Search Results

Most of the organic links and images in our search results come from Bing. Information about how Bing protects users from illegal content, including the proactive technologies it uses, can be found on its How Bing Delivers Search Results page. We never use personal data to customize search results, and users can limit adult content in their results through the Safe Search setting.

To report illegal, problematic, or suspicious content in the search results, use Bing’s Report a Concern form. Content removed by Bing will automatically be excluded from our search results and those of Bing's other downstream partners. You can also provide feedback about search content by clicking the three-dot icon next to the result and following the prompts.

Assistance & Concerns

To provide feedback about the accessibility of illegal content on our services, report illegal content in our search results, or if you believe that DuckDuckGo is not fulfilling its obligations under the UK Online Safety Act or the Australian Online Safety Act, please contact [email protected]. Please include the relevant law in the subject and body of your email and provide enough information for us to assess the issue and determine the best course of action. If you do not want us to acknowledge receipt of your email, clearly state that you opt out of further communications from us. 

Australian users can contact the eSafety Commissioner, Australia's online safety regulator, for help dealing with online abuse, to submit complaints, and to report illegal or restricted online content.
